THE GREAT OUTDOORS
If the great outdoors is more your style, enjoy proximity to some of Maine’s most beautiful beaches and state parks. Popham Beach, a spectacularly pristine sand beach, is about a 40 minute drive from the inn, as is Morse Mountain and Reid State Park. They are beautiful in any season. Bradbury Mountain is great for hiking and biking. In the winter months, choose from many of our nearby snowshoeing venues or just head across the street to the Village Green for some ice skating. Like a throwback in time, you’ll feel like you stepped into a Norman Rockwell painting. Reflect on it all over a cup of cocoa or a glass of wine in front of one of our five working fireplaces. LL Bean Outdoor Adventures include canoe, kayak, paddleboard, hunting, and fishing outings. And speaking of LL Bean . . .
For the shoppers out there, get your wallets ready! Shopping in Freeport all began with LL Bean, but now you can hit Cole Haan, Banana Republic, Abercrombie, Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, Brooks Brothers, and dozens more, all within reach of just one parking space. Freeport is just a 15 minute drive away. But don’t feel you need to get in your car at all: Brunswick shops are top-notch, with stores such as Nest for home décor and gifts, Wilbur’s Chocolates for sweets, Bayview Gallery for fine art, Keith Field for jewelry, and so many more.
